Vampire Myths
Tie the corpse with hundreds of tiny knots or put seeds inside the coffin
Both seeds and knots work with vampires, because they have to untie, or pick up every one before rising.
Bury the corpse facedown
This could work because when the vampire goes to dig itself out, it actually digs itself deeper.
Watch over the corpse until it's buried
This would only protect it from animals from jumping over the corpse, or having moonlight fall upon it which if they did
happen they would become a vampire.
Bind the hands and feet
This keeps the vampire from rising, but if they were not a vampire this would prevent the soul from leaving the body.
Decapitate the corpse
Decapitating the head and placing it in another grave will force the vampire to search for it's head before going out
to feed.
Place a crucifix and Eucharistic waffers within the coffin
This might work if everything else fails.
White Horses
A way of detecting if there is a vampire buried in a grave is to walk a white horse over the grave. It the horse refuses
to go near the grave, and/or will not walk over it they are a vampire. |
